Basbousa, Delicious Eats Buka Puasa

Cake ingredients
300 g semolina
150 g white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons flaked coconut
150 g butter, heat
150 g thick yoghurt
1-2 tsp baking powder

syrup ingredients
200 ml of water
100 gr of white sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
Almonds for topping

How To Make
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Spread butter in pan
2. In a medium bowl, mix all cake ingredients except almonds.
3. Pour batter into pan and smooth with a spoon.
4. Take a knife and make diagonal lines from left to right to make a diamond shape. Put the almonds in each diamond shape
5. Bake for 25-30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until light brown.
6. While the cake baked, make a syrup. In a small saucepan over medium heat, stir together water and white sugar, and lemon juice.
7. Bring to a boil, for 5-10 minutes, until the syrup starts thick. Set aside.
8. Lift cake from oven after 25-30 minutes, and pour syrup over cake until absorbed. Serve warm.
